Levin Royal 1944 non cutaway
This Levin Royal has a really nice honey burst color and she has a nice base sound and is a great example on how Archtops was made for playing in a large settings with an orchestras.
Made in in 1944 during the 2 world war, it used the finest handpicked wood that Herman Carlsson Levin himself choose for each year of the production of these wonderful Archtops.
The Top is in Finest spruce and side and back is made from walnut with natural fine lines.
Just as late as last Friday of February 2017 she was played in a duo setting with a Levin solist cutaway from 1951, and she had a larger full sound.
It was a fun session.
